About College
The SSCC was founded in 1967 to serve evergrowing educational needs of unprivileged and underprivileged sections of the society. Dr Panjarabrao Deshmukh and Dalitmittra Pandharinath Patil came together to establish this institution under the banner of Shri Shivaji Education Society , Amravati. Adv. R.D.Bhonde ‘Sarkar’ and Santoshrao alis Appasaheb Patil ,then MLA took effort to establish it. The several socio-political leaders and common man, farmers contributed well in this sacred and holy task.
The College has completed 45 glorious years, blazing a trail of excellence. Very soon ,we are going to celebrate GOLDENJUBILEE. The institute owers it’s glory to the vision of our founders, the committed leadership of the management, the sincere dedication of the staff both teaching and non-teaching ,tens of thousands of all those young persons who have passed out of the portals of the institute and funds of goodwill from all our well wishers and community at larg.
The institute strive for academic excellence and tries to crate an environment which generate love for learning, a habit of critical thinking and evaluation so that the human kind’s store of knowledge is enlarged. The aim of the college as enunciated by the first Principal Late S.M. Wankhade was to train the students to become good profession and citizens.
The heavy rush of students every year seeking admissions to junior and in degree college indicates the prestige and pride of place this institute in the district of Buldana.
The students of the institute with their exemplary discipline, serious academic extra and co-curricular pursuits and excellent rapport with their teachers have greatly contributed to make this institution a name to reckon within the academic and other fields.
The SSCC has practiced a policy of self renewal all along and when the time come to reinvent itself in the context of changing scenario, it has upgraded itself with the introduction of the Arts faculty at UG level in 1971, commerce at UG level in 1989 and PG in commerce in 2009 PG in Science and Arts in 2010. English medium UG commerce has started in 2011. Also added research degrees program like M.Phill. and Ph.D. in Science and Commerce.
Also new subject like Music, Home Economics, Freshwater Fish Aquaculture and Bioinformatics are added at junior and Degree level.
UGC sponsored Career Oriented Program like, Biotechnology, Finance Management, Aquaculture, Communication Skill in English, Instrumentation and Fashion Designing also opened to develop Skills at 3 tier level. Human Right Education and Duties Courage has been started for holistic development.
Still the feeling of incompleteness was persisting in the noble minds of the institution makers and the next generation care take like Adv. Arun Shelke and other executive members of the society. Hence continues improvement, expansion and growth is passing on since 1967 to achieve all round development and excellence.
The discipline, devotion and dedication of management ,Teaching and non-teaching staff and co operation and help of local people have played instrumental role in brining the institution to its presents status and structure.
With the values, transparency, honesty and integrity the college premises to be one of the most exemplary institutions in the state.
